The role will support the transactional finance team with coding and accounting treatment of purchase invoices and will monitor and maintain key financial controls across the Technology sub-division. We are also going through a finance transformation process with opportunity to be involved in large new systems implementation and aligning financial processes and controls across the Technology businesses.Key responsibilitiesAssisting with generation and delivery of monthly management accounts in line with monthly timetable, with particular emphasis on all P&L costsProvide input to the monthly revenue recognition process as requiredProduce monthly reconciliations of all major balance sheet accountsSupport of payables and receivables functions across the Technology sub-divisionSupport and input to key finance transformation processes and implementation of new group-wide finance systemContinuous improvement and simplification of finance processesMaintenance of capex and exceptional costs reportingPreparation of quarterly VAT returnsSupport the annual group audit and tax processesMain contributor to the annual budgeting and periodic reforecasting processes in line with group timetablesDeputise for the Finance Manager as requiredKey skills and experience requiredSignificant experience in similar finance roles, ideally comprising project accounting and revenue recognitionPart Qualified Accountant or AAT Qualified desirable but not essentialExperience working within a strong financial controls frameworkData manipulation and presentation skillsProfessional Scepticism and attention to detailExperience of using one or more of Sage 50 Professional, Xero, Iris Kashflow, Quick Books and MS Dynamics 365 desirable but not essentialExperience of working under US GAAP accounting standards or accounting for a US subsidiary desirable but not essentialWhy work for DaviesDavies are committed to being a diverse and inclusive workplace.
