Job responsibilities
About the Role
We are looking for an accurate and motivated Clinical Summariser to join our team. The role involves reviewing and summarising patient medical records to ensure information is clear, concise, and accurately coded, supporting safe and effective patient care.
Key Responsibilities
* Reviewing incoming patient medical records (paper and electronic)
* Summarising relevant clinical history in line with practice and NHS standards
* Accurate clinical coding using SNOMED/Read codes
* Identifying missing or incomplete information and flagging appropriately
* Maintaining confidentiality and data protection at all times
* Working collaboratively with clinicians and administrative staff
Essential Skills & Experience
* Previous experience in clinical summarising (GP practice or primary care preferred)
* Strong understanding of medical terminology
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail
* Confident use of clinical systems (e.g. EMIS)
* Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively
Desirable
* Coding qualification or equivalent experience
* Knowledge of QOF and long-term condition coding
* Experience working remotely
