About the Opportunity
This role supports the efficient and effective operation of the Supplies Section by delivering high-quality administrative assistance, stock control, and procurement support. You will play a key part in ensuring that uniforms, PPE, and essential supplies are managed accurately and provided to staff in a timely, compliant, and cost-efficient manner. The role also involves working closely with suppliers, internal teams, and key stakeholders to maintain excellent service standards.
Key Responsibilities
In this dynamic and evolving role, you will:
1. Assist with the day-to-day operations of the Supplies department in line with established procedures
2. Support changes to departmental methods and processes, building effective relationships with partners, stakeholders, and suppliers
3. Respond to enquiries from suppliers and internal users; process external orders and internal requisitions across multiple finance systems
4. Measure and fit garments and PPE for personnel, ensuring compliance with health and safety requirements
5. Maintain COSHH records for chemicals and cleaning products
6. Maintain stock levels, raise orders, review prices, and source suppliers to ensure best value
7. Assist with monthly stock control checks, stock-taking, and maintaining the stock control database
8. Process invoices and documentation relating to goods and services received
9. Investigate and report any stock discrepancies
10. Support warehouse duties when required and undertake any other reasonable tasks commensurate with the role
About You
We’re seeking a proactive and flexible individual with excellent attention to detail and a commitment to providing high-quality customer service. You will be organised, confident in using stock systems, and comfortable working both independently and as part of a busy team.
Essential Criteria:
11. Experience in stock control administration or warehousing
12. Experience using a computerised stock control system
13. Excellent customer service and communication skills
14. Proficient in Microsoft Office programmes (Word, Excel, Access)
15. Full UK driving licence with the ability to drive manual vehicles
Hours and Working Pattern
16. Core hours: 37 hours (Monday to Friday 8:00-16:00)
