Overview
Our client, a leading UK-based technology consultancy, is seeking a Solutions Architect – Senior Consultant to join their expanding team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced professional who enjoys shaping technology solutions that drive meaningful business outcomes across public and private sector projects.
As a senior consultant, you will take ownership of solution design, guiding clients from strategy through to delivery. You will create solution blueprints that address business needs while ensuring alignment with technology standards, financial constraints, and governance frameworks.
This role offers the chance to work across diverse and complex projects, using your technical expertise and consulting skills to help clients modernise and transform their digital services.
Responsibilities
* Take end-to-end ownership of client solutions, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical strategy.
* Develop solution blueprints covering business, data, application, and technology layers.
* Lead architecture discussions, balancing stakeholder needs with practical implementation considerations.
* Communicate solution designs effectively across governance boards, technical teams, and senior stakeholders.
* Assure the effective delivery and implementation of architecture designs by delivery teams.
* Stay current with emerging technologies and assess their potential application to client projects.
* Ensure compliance with internal and client quality, environmental, and information security standards.
Requirements
Essential Experience:
* Proven experience in solutions architecture, ideally within consulting or digital transformation projects.
* Strong foundation in software development, design, and delivery.
* Demonstrated ability to engage senior stakeholders and influence key decisions.
* Experience enabling and assuring delivery of architectural solutions within agile delivery teams.
* Understanding of Agile, Scrum, and DevOps methodologies.
* Good working knowledge of architecture frameworks and modelling languages (e.g. UML, ArchiMate).
* Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to non-technical audiences.
* Familiarity with Government Digital Service (GDS) standards and toolkit.
* Eligible for UK Security Clearance (SC).
Desirable Experience:
* Exposure to architecture frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachman, or Open Agile Architecture.
* Previous experience in delivering digital services for UK government clients.

Working Arrangements
This role is offered on a hybrid basis, with flexibility to work from home, client sites, or one of several UK hub locations. Some travel across the UK may be required depending on project needs.
