Job Description: Electrician (Temporary) Location: Sheffield Contract Type: Temporary, Full-Time Pay: Competitive (Paid Weekly) We are currently recruiting an experienced Maintenance Electrician to join the estates and facilities team of a major public-sector organisation in Sheffield. This role involves working across a diverse property portfolio, including both historic buildings and modern facilities. You will play a key part in delivering high-quality electrical maintenance, repairs, testing, and installation work within a busy, professional environment. Key Responsibilities Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive repairs on electrical systems and building services equipment. Undertake electrical installation work as part of small upgrades and improvement projects. Perform mandatory electrical testing in line with current regulations and interpret results accurately. Diagnose and repair electrical faults across a variety of electrical installations and equipment. Work on systems such as lighting, emergency lighting, alarms, power distribution, and basic BMS components. Follow all relevant electrical safety procedures, including Permit to Work systems. Use appropriate tools and equipment and participate in ongoing training to keep technical skills up to date. Ensure a safe working environment for yourself, colleagues, and building users. Candidate Requirements Recognised electrical qualification (NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent) with a completed apprenticeship. Proven experience in electrical maintenance within a large or complex estate. Strong knowledge of electrical testing, inspection, and compliance standards. Ability to work independently and use initiative to resolve issues effectively. Flexible and reliable, with the ability to work across different building types and priorities.
