The Opportunity
A respected national association is seeking a truly commercial Managing Director to guide its next phase of Member‑centred development. This is a prominent leadership role for someone who can embody the organisation’s values, strengthen its influence, and cultivate a connected, engaged membership community.
Key Responsibilities
* Serve as the organisation’s public representative, championing Members across the sector.
* Build trusted relationships with Members, ensuring they feel supported, informed, and valued.
* Shape and deliver a modern, Member‑focused strategy aligned with long‑term sustainability.
* Enhance the organisation’s visibility, credibility, and impact through confident external engagement.
* Oversee governance, financial stability, and operational excellence.
* Lead and inspire the Senior Team, fostering a collaborative and high‑performing culture.
About You
* Senior leadership experience within a membership body, trade association, or related environment.
* Strong public presence with the ability to act as a credible figurehead.
* Exceptional relationship‑building skills and emotional intelligence.
* Commercial awareness with the ability to balance income generation and Member value.
* Confident communicator, comfortable in media, events, and stakeholder settings.
