Background to the Role
Due to our continued success, HCI Systems is seeking a Business Development Representative to join our management team and support our growth initiatives. The successful candidate will assist in business development and marketing, liaising with relevant departments and engaging with current and potential customers.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
* Proactively reach out to prospects via various channels, introducing HCI to new customers and projects.
* Accurately forecast sales opportunities and maintain the sales pipeline, working closely with project owners and internal teams to convert leads into sales.
* Build and sustain strong relationships with new and existing customers to maximize sales.
* Serve as the point of contact for key accounts, addressing inquiries, providing technical support, and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the sales process.
* Manage the sales process from initial contact to order, ensuring smooth handover to the projects team and ongoing support.
* Collaborate with internal teams to review and agree on terms and conditions with customers.
* Align future opportunities and pipeline with business goals.
* Conduct weekly/monthly data analysis and report progress against KPIs to stakeholders.
* Leverage networking opportunities through memberships and events such as MAKE UK Defence, MIA, and Shropshire Chamber of Commerce.
Skills and Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business, or a related field; technical degree or equivalent experience preferred.
* Experience in business development, sales, or marketing within relevant industries; automotive, motorsport, or high-performance vehicles preferred.
* Strong technical understanding of electrical systems and wiring harnesses is advantageous.
* Proven ability to manage complex sales processes and work effectively across teams.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to build rapport at all levels.
* Strategic thinking with the ability to analyze data, identify trends, and develop insights.
