Job Title: Ultrasound Technician (Fixed Term)

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our dynamic, busy ultrasound team, covering maternity leave on a fixed-term basis until June 2026.
The position is within the Obstetric Scan Department/Fetal Medicine Unit at Raigmore Hospital, Inverness. The department conducts obstetric ultrasound scans across all pregnancy stages and emergency gynaecology cases.
Excellent IT and communication skills are essential. You should be able to work independently and as part of a team.
Previous obstetric experience is preferable but not essential. You should have an awareness of patient emotions following unexpected outcomes and demonstrate empathy and supportiveness.
Responsibilities include:
1. Utilizing IT applications such as PMS, Microsoft Word, Radiology Information System, Badgernet, and Excel.
2. Collaborating with and chaperoning midwife sonographers to provide high standards of care to pregnant women in the Highlands.
3. Welcoming patients, checking demographics, booking appointments, and managing scan lists.
4. Cleaning and tidying ultrasound equipment.
5. Managing PECOS orders.
6. Liaising with obstetric multidisciplinary team members.
