Job Title: Assistant Technical Authority - Electrical

Salary: up to £67,300 depending on skills and experience
What you'll be doing:
• Supporting the Platform TA in requirements, acceptance, architecture and safety of the Electrical scopes of work
• Verifying of Electrical Systems engineering outputs and deliverables
• Participating in the technical management of Electrical Systems Suppliers, including design reviews
• Participating in resolution of key Electrical Systems Technical issues
• Conducting Technical risk assessment and mitigation
• Supporting the Platform TA in achieving certification
Your skills and experiences:
Essentials:
• Typically, degree qualified, likely to be in a technology, engineering or science related discipline or demonstratable experience in engineering or a defence related industry
• Meet the requirements or willing to work towards the registration as Chartered Engineer with the Engineering Council and preferably be a member of a relevant Professional Body
• Experience of Design Engineering Lifecycle Management
• Possesses in-depth knowledge of the fundamentals within an electrical system design discipline
• Recognised and consulted as one of the experts within at least one domain i.e. LV Distribution design or possessing deep knowledge of several domains within current discipline

Our team provides specialist marine engineering expertise, playing a pivotal role in organizing and coordinating significant aspects of engineering activity across the business. We are committed to delivering high-quality, cost-effective solutions that align with defined project objectives and strategic goals.
We contribute expert input to the development of policy and strategy, ensuring that decisions are informed by deep technical knowledge and practical experience in our specialist areas.
A key focus of our work is the Canadian Surface Combatant (CSC) program, where we serve as the Electrical Assistant Technical Authority. In this capacity, we uphold rigorous governance standards to ensure that all CSC designs are safe, technically sound, and fully compliant with applicable legal and engineering requirements. Our oversight ensures that the CSC program meets the highest standards of performance, reliability, and safety.
