We're looking for a CAD Engineer to join our Natural Resources, Nuclear and Networks team based in Plymouth. KierBAM is a joint venture partnership between Kier and BAM Nuttall.
We are seeking a CAD Engineer to join us on a major project at Devonport dockyard in Plymouth, Devon, where we are refurbishing the Royal Navy dockyard.
Due to the sensitive nature of the site, BPSS security clearance is required. Please note that this process can take up to 8 weeks.
Eligibility criteria: Candidates must hold a passport from an EU, NATO, Five Eyes, or MISWG member country and have resided in the UK for the past 5 years.
Location: Devonport Royal Dockyard, Plymouth – occasional working from home may be available.
Hours: 42.5 hours per week.
We are unable to offer certificates of sponsorship to any candidates in this role.
Responsibilities
* Act as a subject matter expert for the production of drawings and provide technical support to personnel as and when required, representing the company at internal and external meetings.
* Ensure that all drawing work is carried out in compliance with ISO 19650, BAM and CAD standards and provide drawing production training to team members and the supply chain.
* Provide support to the Document Control team to review drawings before submitting to the client.
* Understand the hardware and software requirements on the project and communicate with the BIM Lead and Project Information Manager.
* Maintain high safety and environmental standards in accordance with company policies and report any inadequacies.
What are we looking for?
* Experienced in rebar design and checking.
* Good understanding of civil/structural design and principles.
* Strong background in producing drawings.
* Proficient in AutoCAD.
* Able to train and mentor site engineers and others to produce in accordance with standards.
