We have an exciting opportunity for a proactive, experienced nurse to join our well-established Pleural Service at ABUHB. This is a fantastic chance to work within a dynamic, multidisciplinary team dedicated to improving outcomes for patients with complex respiratory conditions. We Are Looking For a Self-motivated, Adaptable Nurse With The Passion And Drive To Thrive In a Specialist Service. You Should Have Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team. A clear interest in pleural disease and a willingness to learn new skills. The ability to educate others and share knowledge confidently. A background in respiratory or oncology nursing (highly desirable), though nurses from other specialties with transferable skills are welcome to apply. Strong organisational skills and the ability to cope with the demands of a fast-paced environment Please note this role will require ability to travel health board wide The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply. Main duties of the job As a Pleural Nurse Practitioner, You Will Act as a key worker for patients with pleural disease, providing expert clinical care and support throughout their treatment journey. Collaborate with senior pleural practitioners and the pleural fellow to drive service development and innovation. Serve as a clinical resource for patients, carers, and healthcare professionals across the Health Board. Participate in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, including pleural interventions. Support education, training, and research initiatives within the respiratory team. Deliver specialist nursing care for patients with pleural disease in inpatient and outpatient settings. Perform pleural procedures under supervision while developing advanced clinical skills. Act as a role model by promoting best practice and maintaining high standards of care. Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure seamless patient care. Contribute to service development and quality improvement initiatives. This post is a secondment for 12 months due to meet the needs of the service - If you are interested in applying for the secondment position, you must obtain permission from your current line manager prior to applying for this post. Experience Essential criteria Experience of working as registered nurse Assessment and provision of care to people with complex needs Desirable criteria Supervision and development of junior staff Qualifications Essential criteria Registered Nurse with current NMC Registration plus post graduate qualification or equivalent demonstrable experience and knowledge in clinical speciality.
