I'm partnering with a successful and friendly SME based in Runcorn who are looking for an Assistant Accountant to join them on a Temporary‑to‑Permanent basis. Job Description
The Assistant Accountant responsibilities include:
3. Prepayments, accruals and journals
4. Fixed asset management
5. Cost of sales analysis
6. Preparing monthly management accounts for review
7. Overseeing purchase ledger and sales ledger
8. Supporting HR admin and payroll preparation
9. Assisting with H&S processes
10. Helping to streamline and improve the 10‑day month‑end close
The Successful Applicant
11. The succesful Assistant Accounant is:
12. Immediately available or short notice to start
13. Experience preparing accounts up to trial balance / management accounts stage
14. Confident with accruals, prepayments, journals & fixed assets
15. Comfortable in a small, close‑knit SME environment
16. Someone happy to get involved beyond core finance when needed
17. Sage 200 experience is ideal
18. Able to work onsite and build trust as you settle in
