Associate / Senior Associate – Project Controls & Independent Assurance
We are seeking an experienced project delivery professional with a background in Project Controls, Quantity Surveying, or Project Management. The role focuses on independent assurance and due diligence for major infrastructure programmes, with project values of £1bn+.
This position involves providing objective, real-time assessments of key decisions made on complex programmes to ensure capital is being spent effectively and in line with business case outcomes. You will be expected to analyse delivery performance, identify risks and issues, and produce high-quality reports that support strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities:
* Deliver independent assurance reviews across infrastructure and built environment projects
* Provide analysis of cost, schedule, risk, procurement, and commercial delivery
* Prepare detailed reports summarising programme status and providing client-focused recommendations
* Conduct site visits and attend project meetings to assess delivery progress
* Maintain professional objectivity and independence in all client engagements
* Manage commissions from initiation through to final reporting
* Lead or support bid submissions and client proposals
* Supervise and mentor junior team members
* Engage with client teams, consultants, and delivery partners to gather information and communicate findings clearly
Requirements:
* Degree qualified in a construction-related discipline
* Chartered (MRICS or equivalent) with at least 10 years’ post-chartered experience
* Strong background in programme or project delivery within infrastructure or construction
* Experience in independent assurance, strategic reviews, or gateway reviews
* Competent in reporting on multiple project delivery elements (cost, schedule, risk, procurement, etc.)
* Confident presenting to senior stakeholders and managing multiple projects simultaneously
* Experience leading teams and managing project deadlines and quality standards
* Knowledge of industry-standard assurance frameworks and project controls methodologies
* Exposure to business development activities, including bid writing and opportunity tracking
