Job Overview
Exciting Opportunity for Aspiring Systemic Family Therapists. If you are studying for your MA in Systemic Practice and seeking a new role, this position offers progression from Band 6 to Band 7 on qualification. Initially you would be employed as a Band 6 Mental Health Practitioner involved in our Family Therapy Clinic.
Role and Responsibilities
* Work with Families: Engage with families in the established family therapy clinic.
* Support Systemic Thinking: Contribute to MDT meetings, team meetings, and peer supervision.
* Collaborate with Experts: Work alongside psychiatrists, psychologists, nurses, social workers, and creative therapists.
* Specialised Teams: Collaborate with the Eating Disorder Community Team.
* Develop and implement evidence-based therapeutic interventions through training, supervision, and collaboration with colleagues.
* Attend meetings, participate in peer groups, and provide consultation, therapy, and support to diverse families.
* Undertake comprehensive assessments of families to understand needs and develop personalised treatment plans within professional guidelines and service policies.
* Work under supervision of a Systemic Family Therapist within a supportive team and engage in ongoing training and supervision to enhance skills.
Main Duties and Requirements
* UKCP registration is essential. Initial appointment as Band 6 Family Therapist with progression to Band 7 on registration.
* Demonstrate experience with children and their families and ability to work independently within professional guidelines.
* Attend to risk assessment, development of treatment plans, and evaluation of outcomes.
* Provide clinical consultation and contribute to multi-agency work where applicable.

Person Specifications
Qualifications Essential:
* Relevant degree or equivalent qualification; evidence of ongoing professional development.
* Experience with complex systemic presentations; qualification in systemic family practice.
Desirable:
* RMN/RN, Clinical Psychologist, Social Worker, or Occupational Therapist background.
Knowledge and Expertise:
* Essential: Working knowledge of the Children Act and Mental Health Act 1983; child protection; ability to write and evaluate treatment plans including risk identification.
* Desirable: Knowledge of other therapeutic approaches such as CBT.
Experience:
* Essential: Minimum 2 years working with young people with mental health problems in CYPMH or adult settings; experience of clinical consultation; risk assessment.
* Desirable: Experience in multi-agency meetings and working with education, social care, etc.
