Criterion Capital are seeking an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join our in-house commercial team. The successful candidate will play a helpful role in assisting the financial and contractual aspects of our development projects which include commercial to hotel and residential projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare, manage, and monitor project budgets.
* Conduct cost analysis and cost control throughout the project lifecycle.
* Prepare and evaluate tenders, bills of quantities, and contracts.
* Source and procure materials and subcontractors.
* Negotiate and manage contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
* Ensure compliance with procurement policies and procedures.
* Prepare detailed financial reports and forecasts.
* Manage and track project expenditures and ensure accurate cost reporting.
* Conduct regular cost reviews and provide financial updates to senior management.
* Administer contract terms and conditions, ensuring compliance and resolution of any issues.
* Manage variations and changes to the project scope.
* Prepare and issue interim and final payments to subcontractors and suppliers.
* Identify and assess potential risks related to cost and contract management.
* Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies.
* Work closely with project managers, site teams, and other stakeholders.
* Provide support and advice on financial and contractual matters.
* Participate in project meetings and contribute to decision-making processes.
About You:
* Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying, Construction Management, or related field.
* Minimum of 1 years of experience as a Quantity Surveyor, preferably within an in-house contractor or development business.
* Strong financial and commercial acumen.
* Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
* Proficient in using relevant software (e.g., MS Excel, Procore, DocuSign).
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
