As a Year 6 Teacher, you will plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons across the curriculum. You will foster resilience, independence, and positive learning behaviours while supporting pupils academically, socially, and emotionally. A key part of the role involves preparing pupils for statutory assessments (SATs) and ensuring they are confident and ready for the next stage of their education. You will work closely with teaching assistants and colleagues to provide differentiated support for all pupils, including those with special educational needs and English as an additional language. Monitoring pupil progress and maintaining accurate assessment records will be central to your role, ensuring that teaching is informed by up-to-date data. Key Responsibilities Plan, deliver, and assess high-quality lessons across the Year 6 curriculum Prepare pupils for SATs and secondary school transition Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEND and EAL learners Promote independence, resilience, and positive learning behaviours Maintain a structured, inclusive, and positive classroom environment Collaborate effectively with teaching assistants and other KS2 colleagues Communicate regularly with parents and carers regarding pupil progress Monitor pupil progress and maintain accurate assessment records Contribute to staff meetings, CPD, and school-wide initiatives Ensure safeguarding policies are adhered to at all times The Ideal Candidate The successful candidate will: Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) Have experience teaching Upper Key Stage 2, ideally Year 6 Demonstrate excellent classroom management and organisational skills Be reflective, proactive, and adaptable Have a strong commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and pupil wellbeing Work collaboratively and contribute to a positive school culture The school is located in Feltham, with excellent transport links and a supportive local community.
