Role Overview
As an Assistant Design Manager, you will work closely with the Design Manager and Project Team to coordinate the design process across all stages of interior fit-out and refurbishment projects. Youll play a key role in ensuring that design information is accurate, coordinated, and delivered on time to support project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
Support the Design Manager in managing and coordinating design information from concept to completion.
Assist in reviewing drawings, specifications, and subcontractor design proposals.
Liaise with architects, consultants, and subcontractors to ensure all design elements are aligned with project requirements.
Manage design documentation flow and maintain accurate design registers and logs.
Attend design coordination and progress meetings, taking minutes and following up on actions.
Support technical submittals, sample approvals, and design compliance checks.
Assist in producing design presentations, schedules, and reports as required.
Work collaboratively with the project and site teams to resolve design queries during construction.
Ensure all design work adheres to company standards, client specifications, and health & safety regulations.
Skills and Experience Required
? Experience ina design coordination or assistant design management role within fit-out, refurbishment, or construction.
? Background in architecture, interior design, or building design technology (degree or equivalent).
? Strong understanding of technical drawings, specifications, and construction detailing.
? Proficient in or similar design software (advantageous).
? Excellent organisational and communication skills with a keen eye for detail.
? Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple design packages concurrently.
? Confident liaising with clients, consultants, and subcontractors.
? Strong teamwork ethic with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
