We are looking for a highly organised and meticulous Assistant Accountant to support the Finance Director in the day-to-day financial operations of the organisation, ensuring accurate and timely processing of transactions.
This role can be either full or part-time.
Someone with a strong analytical mindset with excellent communication skills and great time management are key to this role.
Key Responsibilities:-
Accounts Payable
Process supplier invoices accurately and promptly.
Match purchase orders, delivery notes, and invoices.
Prepare supplier payment runs and resolve invoice queries.
Maintain up-to-date AP ledgers.
Accounts Receivable
Credit control responsibilities - monitor customer payments and follow up on overdue debts.
Reconcile customer accounts and maintain accurate AR records.
Cash Management
Recording of cash book income/expenditure
Process expenses and corporate card transactions.
Nominal Ledger/VAT & Month-End Support
Post journals such as accruals, prepayments, and corrections.
Assist with month-end/prep for monthly management accounts.
VAT return prep and analysing of returns.
Administration & Support
Maintain accurate financial records and filing systems.
Reconciling weekly timesheets ready for monthly payroll
Support the Finance Director with ad-hoc reports and tasks.
Skills & Experience Required
Previous experience in a finance or accounts administration role.
Strong numerical skills and attention to detail.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software (preferably Sage)
Multi-tasking abilities and to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to work accurately under pressure and meet deadlines.
Knowledge of basic accounting principles.
