Vacancy – Business System Analyst
A vacancy has arisen within the IT department, for a full time Business Systems Analyst. Working within the Business Analysis Team the role is to predominantly act as the interface between the business, development teams, customers and external vendors providing analysis, solutions and support to enable the business to operate effectively, alongside providing support to the project teams and the leading of some of the smaller internal projects.
This is a varied role requiring a wide range of knowledge within the transport industry which would suit an individual with an inquisitive and questioning character who is looking to expand on existing support, analysis skills and project experience.
The role encompasses;
1. Reviewing and documenting business processes, identifying requirements and managing change requests
2. Providing support for larger G&W projects
3. Understanding and resolving EDI messaging issues and requirements including managing the day to day messages performing data fixes
4. Responsibility for application testing, issue logging and follow up of issues with both internal developers and external vendors
5. Creation and maintenance of testing, training and specification documentation
6. Investigation and resolution of in house and external application user queries
7. Managing internal auditable processes to meet the company’s Sarbane Oxley requirements
The Ideal candidate will be self motivated and customer focused, have experience in analysing & documenting business requirements and be able to demonstrate; excellent verbal and written communication, good logical trouble shooting skills, attention to detail and the ability to juggle multiple issues and priorities. In addition a good understanding of the transport industry, particularly the rail sector and experience in project lifecycles and application support would be beneficial.

Due to the nature of the position, applicants must also be flexible in both duties and hours, the role includes occasional travel and overnight stays.
