Deputy Manager

Salary: Up to £39,000
Excellent opportunity for an experienced, qualified candidate to join the team in one of our children's residential homes. We specialise in supporting Children and Young People who have suffered early life trauma, neglect or abuse and may display challenging behaviours.
Main Duties
* To lead the team to deliver high quality care to our young people
* To ensure that all risks are safely managed in line with the company policies and procedures
* To communicate effectively with the team regarding the plans for the day
* To review the young people's care plans and other associated documentation
* To undertake an in-depth quality and bespoke training package
* To attend/chair staff meetings and be proactive in developing and improving the service model
* To act as an advocate for the young person whilst using a positive parenting model
* To work with young people using positive support strategies including de‑escalation tools and techniques using in‑house training (PRICE)
* To provide support to the Manager in order to complete day to day tasks
* To run the home in the absence of the Manager
* To complete on‑call duties as and when required
Job Requirements
* To provide positive parenting
* To have exceptional communication skills
* To have sound working knowledge of current legislation e.g., Children’s Homes Regulations 2015 (including quality standards)
* To provide support and positive role modelling to the staff team (including completing supervisions)
* Must be prepared to complete Diploma Level 5 Children’s Residential Care
* To be open‑minded, empathetic, in a calm and professional manner
* To attend meetings etc on behalf of the Manager in a professional manner
Essential Requirements
* Must have a full manual driving licence
* Must be fully flexible and have the ability to work unsociable shift patterns
* Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare or equivalent
* The desire to develop into a Registered Children’s Home Manager
* To participate in further continuing professional development supporting the needs of our young people
* To have a clear passion and desire to support children and young people
* To be an active member of a progressive and committed team
