Posted: 24 August
Offer description

This is a fantastic opportunity for theatre practitioners to enhance, expand, and develop their existing skills and knowledge in a diverse range of surgical specialties, including General Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Interventional Radiology, Trauma and Orthopedics, Urology, Gynaecology and Obstetrics, Plastic Surgery, Head and Neck, and Maxillofacial Surgery across 19 operating theatres.

Responsibilities include delivering excellent standards of care, providing patient support throughout the peri-operative phase, advocating on behalf of patients, and undertaking the Anesthetic Practitioner role to ensure a safe environment and practice. The role involves working with and supporting other members of the multidisciplinary team, preparing and monitoring the environment of care and equipment, and supervising junior colleagues, unregistered staff, and students.

Previous theatre experience is advantageous; however, a comprehensive training package is available for newly qualified staff or those new to the theatre environment. The successful candidate should be motivated, enthusiastic, and committed to delivering safe, high-quality care. This position requires out-of-hours work on a rotational basis.

At Bradford Teaching Hospitals, we are passionate about providing outstanding care for the people of Bradford and the wider North of England communities. We are keen to meet individuals interested in sharing our passion and helping us maintain the highest quality of care. As a renowned teaching hospital trust at the forefront of research, education, and development, we feature a state-of-the-art simulation and skills training centre on-site. We can support your career growth with our world-class facilities, including a new neonatal suite, a state-of-the-art intensive care unit, a refurbished A&E department, a new children’s unit, and a modern atrium and reception area.

You will be based in the Acute and Vascular Theatres at Bradford Royal Infirmary. We are seeking Theatre Practitioners primarily with anaesthetic skills. Our theatres offer:

* A structured induction package for all new starters
* Preceptorship tailored to professional needs for newly qualified nurses and ODPs
* A supernumerary period only completed when competencies are signed off
* Induction and mentoring programs
* Dedicated time to support new staff
* Flexible start dates to accommodate time off after studies
* Counselling support and training opportunities
