Lead Sales Engineer
Location: Midlands based – UK wide coverage
Salary: £40,000 – 45,000 + 20% Bonus (OTE Up to £54k) + Business Expensed Company Car + 23 Days Holiday (Rising to 25) + Stats + Competitive Pension + Life Assurance
The Company
My client is a well-known manufacturer of light to medium machines, supplying industries such as Food, Medical, and Building Materials. Part of a £500m group, they are now seeking a Lead Sales Engineer to take over a well-established sales department following the retirement of their long-serving Sales Manager.
The Role
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual seeking a challenging Sales Management role. With current revenue of approximately £700k annually, your responsibility will be to source and convert new business opportunities using your market knowledge and sales skills.
You will manage key accounts proactively and prospect new clients, aiming for cross-selling opportunities within the product range. The role involves a 50/50 split between new business development and existing customer relationship management.
Building relationships with end customers and key distributors to increase sales revenues is essential. The role requires approximately 250 customer visits per year and travel across the UK, mainly Midlands and Yorkshire, about 1-2 nights per week.
Key Responsibilities
* Sales of industrial bagging systems to target markets
* New business development
* Management of existing clients
* Facilitating customer demonstrations
* Increasing sales revenue annually
* Transitioning to more distributor-focused sales
The Person
* Proven track record in business development sales and/or account management, ideally at management level
* Experience in selling bespoke or engineering capital equipment/services
* Technical understanding gained through experience
* Good IT skills
* Willing to travel extensively across Midlands and North
* Ability to work under pressure and thrive in a sales environment
