Job Title: Highly Specialist Speech and Language Therapist
Job Location: Petherton Park School, Bridgwater TA6
Salary: Between £53,508 and £60,001.50 per annum, working 37.5 hours per week, 52 weeks per year.
Contract Type: Permanent
We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Senior Clinical Leader to join our ambitious, forward-thinking team. You will lead the development and growth of our Speech and Language Therapy (SaLT) and Occupational Therapy (OT) services across care and educational settings, shaping how our services look, feel, and flourish.
As a Senior Clinical Leader within our multidisciplinary Integrated Therapy Team, you’ll influence strategic decisions and service evolution. You’ll oversee line management and clinical supervision of therapists across education and care sites, mentor less experienced therapists, and dedicate 40% of your time to clinical work.
This role involves leading, innovating, and inspiring, shaping the direction of our OT and SaLT services to provide outstanding care.
A day in the life of a Senior Clinical Lead will involve:
* Leading and supporting the strategic and operational delivery of SALT and OT services.
* Managing a caseload of children and young adults with speech, language, and communication needs.
* Designing and implementing evidence-based therapeutic training with a Neurodiversity Affirming and trauma-informed approach.
* Providing supervision and development opportunities for junior therapists and assistants.
* Collaborating with the Therapies Director on service expansion, recruitment, and resource management.
* Ensuring compliance with professional standards, confidentiality, safeguarding, and maintaining accurate records.
To be successful, you’ll need:
* A recognised postgraduate qualification in Speech and Language Therapy and HCPC Registration.
* At least 5 years of post-qualification experience as a Speech and Language Therapist, with 1+ years in supervision or management.
* Confidence in supervision, training, and support roles.
* Good IT skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
* A full driving licence, with travel to other sites as required.
If you have NHS experience, this role is comparable to a “Band 8a” position.
