Job description Class 2 Driver Location: Coggeshall Pay: £16 per hour Are you ready to hit the road and make some deliveries? We’re on the lookout for Class 2 Drivers to join a dynamic freight forwarding company. If you have a passion for driving and a knack for navigating the roads, we want to hear from you! What You’ll Be Doing: * Making palletized deliveries with 5-6 drops and 2-5 collections (keep it moving!) * Enjoying ongoing temp work with shifts starting around 6-7am, averaging a solid 10 hours on the road. What You Need to Bring to the Table: * At least 1 year of Class 2 driving experience (no newbies please) * A valid CPC Card (essential for those who want to drive like a pro) * A Tacho Card (because we all love to keep things legal!) * ADR certification is a bonus, but not a deal breaker (let’s not stress over it) Key Responsibilities 1. Safe and Efficient Driving: * Safely and efficiently operate an HGV Class 2 vehicle, complying with all relevant legislation and company policies. * Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report any defects or issues to the Transport Manager. 2. Load and Unload Goods: * Load and unload goods, ensuring proper securement and adherence to weight limits. * Handle palletized deliveries, making 5-6 drops and 2-5 collections each shift. 3. Route Planning: * Plan the most efficient routes, considering traffic conditions and delivery schedules to ensure timely deliveries. 4. Paperwork and Documentation: * Complete all necessary paperwork accurately and in a timely manner, including delivery notes, logs, and any other required documentation. 5. Customer Service: * Provide exceptional customer service, building positive relationships with clients and colleagues. * Handle customer queries and concerns in a professional manner. 6. Vehicle Maintenance: * Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of the vehicle. * Ensure the vehicle is stocked with necessary supplies and is in good running condition. 7. Health and Safety: * Adhere to health and safety guidelines at all times, ensuring your safety and the safety of others on the road. Requirements: * Valid HGV Class 2 license * Digital Tacho experience * Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) * Excellent driving skills and knowledge of driving regulations. * Strong communication and customer service skills. * Ability to work independently and as part of a team. * Good physical stamina and the ability to lift and carry heavy loads. * Flexibility to work occasional weekends and overtime as needed.
