Junior Business Development Manager

Position Title: Junior Business Development Manager
Salary: Up to £32,000 per year + Company Commission & Performance-Based Bonus
Location: Peterborough
Reports To: Sales Manager
Job Type: Full-Time office based – 9:00am to 5:00pm, Monday to Friday (30 min lunch break)

A growing technology solutions provider is looking for a Junior Business Development Manager to support the sales team in driving new business and expanding market presence. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with some sales or business development experience who wants to build their career, develop their skills, and gain hands-on experience in a professional sales environment.

As a junior team member, you will be focused on supporting the sales process, generating leads, and learning how to engage and manage client relationships under the guidance of senior colleagues.

Key Responsibilities

Lead Generation & Market Research

1. Identify potential clients and new business opportunities through research, networking, and outreach.
2. Maintain and update the CRM system with new leads and client information.
3. Monitor industry trends and competitor activity to support sales planning.

Customer Engagement Support

4. Assist in building relationships with new and existing clients.
5. Support the team in presenting products and solutions to potential customers.
6. Help understand client needs and assist in preparing tailored proposals or solutions.
7. Attend client meetings or site visits alongside senior team members when required.

Sales Administration & Support

8. Prepare sales documents, proposals, contracts, and reports as required.
9. Support the Sales Manager with pipeline tracking and reporting.
10. Collaborate with marketing and other internal teams to support campaigns and promotions.

Qualifications & Skills

11. 0–2 years of experience in sales, business development, or customer-facing roles, with a demonstrable track record of contributing to business growth, which can be discussed and evidenced during the interview
12. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
13. Motivated, proactive, and eager to learn.
14. Basic understanding of sales processes and lead generation techniques.
15. Comfortable using CRM software and standard office tools.
16. Full driving licence is desirable for client visits.
17. Interest or some knowledge of technical products or electronics.
18. Ability to work independently while following guidance from senior team members.
