If you possess a keen eye for detail and a commitment to upholding the law, we want to hear from you!\n\nPosition Details:\n\nContract Type: Temporary\nContract Length: 3 months (likely extension)\nWorking Pattern: Full Time (36 hours per week, with occasional Saturday shifts) (hybrid working 36 hours per week - mainly on district then enquiries/paperwork in office. There will also be occasional Saturday working.\nHourly Rate: £21.72 per hour PAYE or £28.68 per hour Umbrella \nDriving Required: No\nDBS Check: Not required Role Purpose:\nAs a Community Compliance Officer, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the Council's enforcement activities. Your responsibilities will include: \n\nEnforcement Services: Addressing issues related to licencing, fly-tipping, waste on private property, graffiti, illegal street trading, litter, and more.\nEnvironmental & Highways Offences: Providing advice and guidance while managing and enforcing relevant legislation.\nSurveillance Operations: Coordinating and conducting both overt and covert surveillance as directed, ensuring compliance with the law.Key Responsibilities:\n\nCollaborate with law enforcement and partner agencies to tackle environmental crimes and anti-social behaviour.\nInvestigate incidents of non-compliance, including littering, dog fouling, and illegal encampments.\nConduct surveillance operations in accordance with legislation, including the Anti-Social Behaviour, Policing and Crime Act 2014 and the Environmental Protection Act 1990.\nProvide training and support to other teams and stakeholders.
What We're Looking For:\n\nStrong understanding of enforcement services, licencing compliance, and environmental crime investigation.\nExperience in conducting surveillance operations and working within health and safety legislation.\nExcellent communication and collaboration skills to effectively engage with the community and partner agencies.\nA proactive approach to public consultation and data protection compliance.
