An exciting opportunity for a passionate and approachable Inclusion Leader to support children in overcoming barriers to learning and to promote inclusive education and emotional wellbeing across the school community.

SALARY: £27,779 per annum FTE / Actual Annual Salary £ £22,536 per annum + Benefits
LOCATION: Hedge End, Southampton, Hampshire
JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Temporary
This roleis of a temporary nature until August 2026 but the contract could potentially be extended.
WORKING HOURS: 35 hours per week, 8.30am to 4.00pm Monday to Friday, Term time only (39 Weeks)

We have a fantastic new job opportunity for an Inclusion Leader / Behaviour Mentor to join the organisation on a temporary basis until August 2026, with the potential for extension.
As an Inclusion Leader / Behaviour Mentor you will coordinate and support strategies to meet the needs of vulnerable pupils, ensuring every child has the chance to thrive both academically and emotionally.
The Inclusion Leader / Behaviour Mentor will work closely with the Senior Leadership Team and Inclusion Practitioners to promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation and engagement across the school.

DUTIES
Your duties as the Inclusion Leader / Behaviour Mentor include:
Manage And Mentor Team: Supervise and support Inclusion Practitioners, holding regular one-to-one meetings to monitor progress and share best practice
Coordinate Staff Duties: Allocate responsibilities and ensure sufficient coverage within the regulation and nurture spaces
Lead Training: Plan and deliver CPD sessions focused on inclusive education, behaviour management and emotional regulation strategies
Monitor Behaviour: Work with the Assistant Headteacher to analyse behaviour data and evaluate the impact of interventions
Maintain Safe Spaces: Oversee the regulation space to ensure it remains a therapeutic, calm and effective area for pupils needing support
Facilitate Transitions: Develop and manage procedures for pupils moving between classrooms and regulation spaces
Promote Inclusive Practice: Champion inclusive approaches that foster emotional wellbeing and a positive school culture
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
Proven experience of supporting children with social, emotional or behavioural needs within an educational setting
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to engage students, parents and staff
Strong understanding of behaviour management and inclusion principles
Ability to mentor and motivate staff effectively
Confident in analysing behaviour trends and implementing data-driven improvements
A flexible, calm and compassionate approach to working with children and young people
