We have recently been named as a Delivery Partner for the Environment Agency’s latest framework, aimed at understanding the impact of climate change and flood risks for communities in England. Under the 2024 Mapping and Modelling Framework, AtkinsRéalis will provide survey, mapping, modelling, incident management, hydrological, and other professional services to support climate event planning. This significant programme will enhance the Environment Agency’s understanding of climate change impacts and help reduce flood risks, including vital community response efforts.

Requirements:
We are seeking Associate consultants, engineers, and modelers with experience in flood risk projects, particularly hydraulic modelling. Candidates should have the confidence to lead technical work and mentor junior team members, building strong client relationships through collaborative skills.
* Experience: Extensive experience in flood risk analysis, project delivery, and client requirements.
* Technical Skills: Proficiency in 1D-2D modelling tools such as Infoworks ICM, Flood Modeller, TUFLOW/ESTRY, HEC-RAS, and GIS platforms like ArcGIS, MapInfo, or QGIS. Hydrological assessment experience is desirable.
* Leadership: Some experience in leading technical teams.
* Decision-Making: Ability to make robust decisions based on available data.

Responsibilities:
* Conduct detailed hydraulic modelling, data analysis, GIS work, and technical reporting, ensuring quality assurance.
* Manage and supervise junior staff; support project management, including financial and change control.

* Support business development activities, including tendering and stakeholder engagement.
* Contribute to the development of the Flood Risk Team through active participation in technical networks.
