Principal Engineer (Rock Engineering) – COWI
Join the growing Rock Engineering team at COWI, where you will apply technical leadership to complex rock engineering and engineering geological projects.
Key Responsibilities
* Check and assess a wide range of new and existing rock engineering and engineering geological projects.
* Organise project delivery on time and within budget, ensuring high standards of sustainability, technical quality and compliance with internal management systems.
* Supervise, mentor and develop less experienced geologists, engineers and technicians within project teams.
* Develop and maintain client relationships, identifying and realising potential business opportunities.
* Assist with the preparation of bids and tenders and support business development opportunities as required.
* Produce engineering and geological design, prepare and check calculations, written reports and other contract deliverables.
Required Skills & Experience
* Be chartered (CGeol, CEng or equivalent).
* Have significant experience in a design environment working on complex rock engineering and engineering geological projects in the UK or internationally (site experience preferred).
* Have experience using a range of rock engineering software (e.g. RS2, RS3, UDEC, 3DEC).
* Have grown project teams and organised project delivery, either as a client or contractor designer.
* Be an accomplished team leader, capable of supporting, mentoring and developing less experienced engineers.
* Possess strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a diverse, multidisciplinary team.
* Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
* Be a technically skilled geologist or engineer with a deep understanding and enthusiasm for rock engineering and a commitment to technical excellence.
* Hold a full UK driving licence.
