What you will do:
1. Accurately check instruments returning to the department after use in patient operations, including decontamination, inspection, assembly, packing, sterilisation, and distribution.
2. Send instruments away for repair when necessary, and communicate any issues promptly with the manager and theatre team, documenting appropriately.
3. Respond to requests from supervisors, managers, or assistants, and be prepared to work flexible hours beyond planned rotas when required.
4. Maintain accurate and timely paperwork, especially ensuring all instruments are accounted for, and address any discrepancies immediately.
5. Monitor and maintain stock levels for all materials used in the department.
6. Stay compliant with all mandatory training, and keep updated on equipment training needs, participating fully in departmental training programmes.
7. Ensure that medical device decontamination services adhere to best practice, minimizing delays in theatre operations.
8. Assist in training new colleagues in decontamination processes under the direction of managers and supervisors.
