Mechanical Pre-Construction Manager (M&E / Building Services) Belfast (Office-Based) £60,000 - £75,000 Package (DOE) Full-Time | Permanent About the Company Kenect Recruitment is working on behalf of a leading provider of Mechanical, Electrical, Energy and Renewables installation and maintenance services to clients across both public and private sectors throughout the UK and Ireland. Due to continued growth, our client is seeking a Mechanical Pre-Construction Manager to join their Projects Division, playing a key role in delivering high-quality, technically sound, and commercially viable building services solutions. The Role You will take ownership of projects from final bid submission through to RIBA Stage 5 design completion, ensuring that all mechanical design elements are coordinated, compliant, and aligned with both client requirements and commercial objectives. This is a design-led, technically focused role with strong involvement in coordination, value engineering, and stakeholder management. Key Responsibilities: Lead mechanical design coordination from RIBA Stage 35, ensuring buildability and compliance Manage and develop designs alongside external consultants and design partners Ensure all designs meet Employers Requirements, specifications, and industry standards Work closely with the commercial team to support accurate and competitive bid submissions Carry out value engineering to optimise cost and efficiency Coordinate mechanical services with electrical and specialist systems Conduct technical reviews, audits, feasibility studies, and risk assessments Prepare and manage technical submittals and design documentation Liaise with clients, main contractors, and supply chain partners Support procurement teams to ensure compliance with specifications Ensure adherence to CIBSE, BSRIA, UK Building Regulations, and sustainability standards Lead on BREEAM / sustainability requirements Contribute to improving internal pre-construction processes and workflows What Were Looking For Essential: Experience in a pre-construction, design coordination, or similar M&E role Strong knowledge of HVAC, heating, ventilation, chilled water, domestic services, and controls Ability to review design calculations, specifications, and cost estimates Good understanding of building regulations and sustainability standards (BREEAM, LEED) Strong organisational and communication skills Commercial awareness and ability to work under pressure Desirable: HNC/HND in Building Services Engineering (or equivalent) Experience with CAD, Revit, Navisworks, and BIM workflows Whats on Offer Competitive salary and benefits package Career progression within a growing and dynamic organisation Exposure to high-value and technically complex projects Supportive and collaborative working environment Ongoing training and professional development Apply Now If you're a mechanically biased professional looking to step into or further develop within a pre-construction leadership role, wed love to hear from you.
