Core Purpose
* This role involves the coordination and control of chemical tank washing operations to maximise efficiency whilst ensuring product and service quality is maintained.
* Ensuring that the control of work in the Tank Wash facility is maintained and that all safety and maintenance is carried out in accordance with procedures.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
Principal duties shall include, but not be limited to, the following:
* Prioritise all work activities under the direction of the Tank and Wash Lead to ensure customer requirements are fulfilled.
* Liaising with the Yard Operatives in relation to clean tank availability.
* Participating in morning meetings with the Tank and Wash Lead to plan and prioritise workload.
* Ensure tank washing is performed in accordance with company procedures and client requests.
* Ensuring Chemical Containers (OST’s) are thoroughly inspected prior to washing.
* Responsibly manage and control chemical residue waste returns (Heel Management Programme).
* Ensuring all daily and weekly maintenance checks are carried out and documented.
* Unload and load the wash rack and third-party transport using a forklift truck.
* Ensuring all safety, environmental and quality controls are rigorously maintained.
* Complete all necessary paperwork related to tank washing activities as required.
* Ensure the Tank Wash Bay is maintained in a safe and tidy condition.
* Co-ordinate additional ad hoc tasks as designated by the Tank and Wash Lead.
COMAH (Control of Major Accident Hazards):
* Undertake allocated tasks in accordance with training and operating procedures, reporting any concerns to the Tank Farm Operations Supervisor.
* Reporting any proposed changes to the Operations Supervisor, ensuring these are not undertaken until approved in accordance with the Company’s Change Management Procedure Support emergency plans and exercises.
Skills and Experience
* Tank Wash background/experience preferred but not essential.
* Previous experience of working in a yard environment.
* Strong communication skills.
* Ability to work effectively as a team.
* Ability to prioritise workload efficiently.
Qualifications
* Certification in Working at Height and Confined Space with Rescue preferred but not essential.
* Forklift certification preferred but not essential.
