POSITION Senior Engineering Project Manager
LOCATION Ashford
SHIFTS Monday – Friday working day shifts with an earlier finish on Fridays
Responsibilities
The Senior Engineering Project Manager is a vital role for the site. You will leverage your expertise in project management methodologies and manufacturing processes to ensure timely delivery, adherence to quality and safety standards, and alignment with strategic business objectives. You will lead and participate in key projects involving new installations and enhancements to existing equipment to grow volume and develop capability for changes within the cosmetics market. You will have accountability for all aspects of the project, working cross-functionally to achieve project objectives in time and budget. You will lead as well as participate in multi-disciplinary teams.
Your main focus
Project Design
* Manage project portfolio, set targets and priorities with alignment of site leadership; ensure investment budget is managed in line with plan.
* Oversee all aspects of projects from technical specification, Factory Acceptance Tests, training, budgeting and contractor management through to project handover; use tools such as User Requirements Specification, Gantt Charts, and RACI (Responsible, Accountable, Consulted, Informed).
* Manage the Project Implementation Team.
* Manage project budgets including monitoring/reporting cost expenditure against estimates and reporting cost position to Engineering Director.
* Manage project management process and documentation for site engineering projects.
* Define project scopes, benefits, objectives, cost estimates, schedule and business case with a probing and investigatory approach.
* Agree non-engineering project responsibilities with the Project Sponsor/Project Business Lead.
* Ensure Safety, Health, Environment, Good Manufacturing Practice and Quality design principles are embedded in the project.
* Assemble the appropriate team members in consultation with the Project Sponsor/Project Business Lead when relevant.
* Collaborate with Procurement for contract strategy and contractor/supplier selection.
* Ensure project execution complies with contract and technical specifications.
* Prepare, manage and deliver engineering aspects of the project day-to-day.
* Ensure design, fabrication and installation comply with Coty Design Guides, local practices and project deliverables through design reviews.
* Manage validation criteria and execution, including snagging lists and handover acceptance requirements.
* Comply with asset management procedures for new, relocated or scrapped assets.
Communication
* Partner with stakeholders and project team members to understand requirements and make informed recommendations.
* Coordinate, schedule and report activities related to stakeholder management, benefits management, business change management and project communications.
* Foster teamwork, coach team members, manage conflict and implement escalation routes.
* Ensure progress reporting to Senior Project Manager and/or Project Sponsor.
* Organise and chair project meetings and necessary specialist meetings.
* Liaise with Equipment Manufacturer or Construction Representative to track activity against schedule and forecasts.
* Send timely communications to relevant parties.
