About the role
All HGV/Class 1 Driver roles involve standard working hours Monday to Friday, with occasional nights out. You will be responsible for delivering and collecting palletised cargo across the Suffolk area using curtain-sided vehicles and containers.
Responsibilities
* Conduct daily vehicle checks, report defects, and ensure safe and legal operation at all times.
* Plan and manage routes efficiently, reporting any significant deviations and supervising safe loading/unloading of goods.
* Promote resource conservation, including fuel and equipment.
* Serve as a professional company representative in all interactions with clients, the public, and colleagues.
* Follow all legal requirements and company policies, providing clear proof of delivery and communicating any issues or incidents promptly.
About you
* As a HGV/Class 1 Driver, you will hold a full UK driving licence with Category C+E (Class 1) entitlement and a current CPC.
* While two years' experience as a HGV/Class 1 Driver is preferred, it is not essential, as we provide a thorough induction programme for the right candidate.
* Excellent communication skills and a courteous, professional manner are essential.
* You will be expected to maintain your vehicle in a safe, clean, and tidy condition at all times.
* ADR and/or a forklift licence is desirable but not required.
