Job Title: Mechanical Engineer Location: Edmonton, London Salary: £18.55 per hour (PAYE) Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday (initially, moving to 4 on 4 off) On-call Rate: £19.56 per hour Standby Fee Job Overview: We are currently looking for a skilled and reliable Mechanical Engineer to join our team in Edmonton, London. As a key member of the engineering team, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing a range of mechanical systems and equipment, including AHUs, FCUs, calorifiers, boilers, and drainage systems. The role will initially be Monday to Friday, but will transition to a 4-on-4-off shift pattern once you're familiar with the site. Key Responsibilities: Regular maintenance and inspection of AHUs (Air Handling Units), FCUs (Fan Coil Units), and calorifiers. Ensuring the safe and efficient operation of boiler systems. Performing maintenance and testing on TMVs (Thermostatic Mixing Valves). Carrying out drainage work, including unblocking toilets and waste pipes. Identifying and repairing leaks. Responding to on-call requests once familiar with the site. Adhering to L8 legionella control measures and ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. Requirements: Level 3 qualification in Plumbing or Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent). Experience in HVAC systems, boilers, and plumbing maintenance. Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to work independently. Previous experience with legionella control (L8) is desirable. Ability to respond to on-call requests and provide emergency support outside regular hours. Full driving licence (preferred but not essential). Benefits: Competitive hourly rate of £18.55 (PAYE).
