NOTE: Candidates for this contract must be eligible for UK Security Clearance (SC).

* Interview Process: 2 stages (Competency discussion + Technical test)
We are seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) to support a major UK infrastructure programme. This role is suited to a hands-on automation specialist who can design, implement, and manage modern testing frameworks while working closely with engineering and project stakeholders.
Responsibilities
* Plan, design, and execute comprehensive test strategies for system updates and integrations.
* Develop and implement a test automation framework integrated with Azure DevOps.
* Establish and maintain a centralised automation testing repository.
* Build data-driven automated regression test suites.
* Write and maintain automation test scripts across system layers.
* Conduct manual testing where automation is not feasible (exception-based).
* Ensure coverage across multiple test types
Required Experience
* Strong experience with test automation frameworks and CI/CD integration.
* Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps, Dataverse, API Testing, Power Automate, Azure API Management (APIM)
* Experience setting up automation testing within CI/CD pipelines
* Knowledge of performance testing, security testing, and accessibility standards (WCAG 2.2).
* Experience presenting automation metrics and reporting test outcomes.
Deliverables
* Comprehensive test plans and supporting evidence.
* Performance and security testing results.
* UAT sign-off documentation.
* Regression testing evidence.
* Accessibility compliance reporting.
* A test framework capable of running within Azure DevOps.
* All test materials approved by relevant architecture, QA, and project stakeholders.
Ideal Profile
* Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, including the ability to work with non-technical audiences.
* Familiarity with IT governance and best practices.
* Proven experience working independently as an automation test engineer within project delivery teams.
* Experience with defect management, including triage, severity classification, and prioritisation
