As an Assembly Operative, youll play a vital part in ensuring pilots have their last line of defence.
The Role
We are looking for an Assembly Operative to join our Fitting Annexe team at our Denham site.
Work as part of a skilled production team to assemble and inspect complex sub-assemblies that form part of our life-saving ejection seats.
This position offers a salary of up to £34,000 per annum, depending on experience.
Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week, with an early finish at 12:00pm on Fridays .
Key Responsibilities
Assemble and inspect sub-assemblies such as Powered Retraction Units, Snubbers, and Auto Deployment Units.
Use technical drawings, build plans, and acceptance test procedures to ensure products meet precise standards.
Assemble kits of components using hand tools and other equipment.
Inspect and test products using gauges, measuring tools, and automated equipment.
Conduct final inspections on finished articles to ensure full compliance with company standards.
Essential Skills and Experience
Previous experience working in a manufacturing environment.
Good understanding of engineering drawings.
Basic knowledge of Health & Safety policies and procedures.
Confident use of hand tools, gauges, rulers, and callipers.
Strong manual dexterity and attention to detail.
Basic IT skills.
Desirable Skills and Experience
Experience in assembly, fitting, and inspection work.
Familiarity with SAP systems.
Knowledge of pressure testing or automated testing equipment.
Behavioural Competencies
Team player with the ability to work independently when required.
Self-starter with a proactive and responsible approach.
Methodical and accurate with strong attention to detail.
Good verbal communication skills.
Tool Proficiency
Essential: Screwdrivers, spanners, Go/No-Go gauges, basic measuring equipment (rulers and callipers).
Desirable: Pressure testing equipment, automated testing equipment, multimeters.
