About the Role
We are looking for a highly capable professional to take ownership of our core documentation, regulatory compliance, and legal processes across all lending activities. You will work closely with senior management, external counsel, shareholders, and key investors, acting as the primary point of contact for all legal-related matters within the lending operations.
This is a hands-on position ideally suited to someone who is commercially minded, detail-oriented, and confident managing multiple stakeholders in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Documentation & Transaction Support
* Draft and update business-critical templates including loan term sheets, and instruction letters for valuers, lawyers, and quantity surveyors across all lending SPVs for both development and investment facilities.
* Review transactional documentation, including requested amendments to facility letters, security documentation, and related financing-party documents.
* Ensure all internal teams and external panel firms are using the latest approved templates.
Regulatory, Compliance & Governance
* Ensure compliance with obligations under loan-on-loan facility agreements, interpreting definitions and communicating requirements clearly to the team.
* Conduct AML/KYC checks on borrowers and prepare KYC packs for third-party onboarding.
* Support incorporation and setup of lending SPVs, including corporate documentation and initial implementation.
* Oversee compliance with ICO, FCA supervision and monitor legislative changes impacting documentation and business practices.
* Maintain up-to-date PI insurance records for professional panel firms.
Stakeholder & Law Firm Management
* Act as the ultimate point of contact for panel law firms, shareholders, investors, and internal teams.
* Oversee onboarding of European law firms to support continental expansion, ensuring alignment with UK policy and scope.
* Negotiate and sign valuer engagement letters and issue reservation-of-rights letters upon events of default.
Internal Support
* Draft waivers, NDAs, and employment contracts for new operational territories.
* Assist with onboarding new employees.
* Provide practical, commercial guidance by translating legal requirements into operational realities.
About You
Qualifications & Experience
* We welcome applicants with practical legal experience, ideally within real estate. This could include time spent as a paralegal or in another legally focused role. Being a qualified solicitor is an advantage, but not a requirement.
* A Strong understanding of loan documentation, security structures, and lender-side processes.
