Both floors have three bedrooms, a modern kitchen, dining area, bathroom, and comfortable lounge. There is a utility room and leafy garden. It has an office for staff administration and sleep in shifts. The location is close to the town centre which has shops and local amenities with easy access to public transport. Parking is available on the driveway. We support 3 women and 2 men who are in their 50s and 60s. They have moderate learning disabilities, autism, and health needs. They communicate verbally and with hand signs. Your Role at Norwood: As a Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in empowering individuals with learning disabilities and autism to lead independent and fulfilling lives. Your responsibilities will include: Guiding and supporting individuals in their day-to-day activities. Encouraging the development of personal skills through hobbies and interests. Accompanying individuals to routine appointments. Teaching essential life skills like budgeting, shopping, and managing bills. Assisting with personal care and, if required, administering medication. Contributing to household tasks such as cleaning and cooking. As a Support Worker, you will provide day to day support including: Helping the people we support to be independent and live a fulfilling life Supporting & encouraging the development of personal skills through hobbies and interests Accompanying the people we support to routine appointments Teaching life skills such as budgeting, shopping and paying bills Assisting with personal care and administrating medication (if required) Assisting with household tasks such as cleaning & cooking Essential: Experience of working with people with neurodevelopmental disabilities, epilepsy and mobility needs Understanding of non-verbal communication such as Makaton Knowledge of safeguarding Flexibility to be able to commit to 39 hours per week, including some weekends Desirable: Emergency First Aid at Work Certificate Moving and Positioning Certificate Administering Medication Certificate If you have can do attitude, lots of energy and want to make a difference in someones life, then Our Recruitment Team would love to hear from you.?
