Job Summary
Lead GP NHS GP Surgery | Minehead Medical Centre – Permanent, Full‑time (40) or Part‑time (Minimum 3 Days / 30 Hours). We are seeking an exceptional Lead GP to join our forward‑thinking NHS primary care practice. This senior clinical and leadership role is ideal for an experienced GP who wants to shape high‑quality patient care while influencing the operational direction of a modern primary care service. The Lead GP will also work within a wider organisation, benefitting from support, experience, resource and peer support through the company network.

Responsibilities
* Delivering high‑quality, patient‑centred care within a supportive primary care team.
* Contributing to clinical leadership and the ongoing improvement of services.
* Supporting safe, effective practice through audit, governance, and quality initiatives.
* Building strong, collaborative relationships with colleagues and multidisciplinary teams.
* Using digital systems confidently to manage patient care and workflows.
* Maintaining and developing your clinical knowledge through continuous professional development.
* Contributing positively to a culture that embraces change, teamwork, and high standards of care.
This role also includes protected leadership time, responsibility for clinical governance, and involvement in operational decision‑making and performance improvement.

Person Specification
Qualifications
* Essential: Fully qualified GP with GMC registration and inclusion on the performers list.
Experience
* Essential: Minimum 35 years post‑CCT experience (or equivalent seniority).
* Essential: Demonstrable leadership experience within primary care.
Desirable Experience
* Experience in clinical governance, service redesign, or quality improvement.
* Experience working within a PCN leadership structure.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
* Essential: Strong understanding of NHS primary care operations, QOF, IIF, and CQC frameworks.
* Essential: Excellent communication, team‑working, and problem‑solving skills.
Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
* Interest or qualification in leadership, management or education.
