Contract Type: Maternity Cover (Fixed Term)
Required from April 2026
Suitable for ECTs
About this Role
We are looking for a dynamic, passionate and inspiring teacher of science. As an outstanding classroom practitioner, you will be part of the wider science faculty, with the ability to teach all sciences, including physics, up to Key Stage 4. Teachers with the potential to teach chemistry and physics up to Key Stage 5 are warmly invited to apply. We would welcome applications from both ECTs and more experienced colleagues.
You will first and foremost be an excellent teacher who leads by example. You will have a track record of always putting young people first, and the ability to inspire and take students with you to continually improve our students’ learning.
At KEVICC you will have the chance to work alongside a great group of colleagues who are all committed to the absolute best for our young people. You'll work in a school that is proudly comprehensive, inclusive and kind. Most importantly, you will get to work with our fantastic students, with the chance everyday to see the impact you have on their learning.
You will also be joining a forward-thinking school that is excited to collaborate across our trust of like-minded schools and more widely. We are delighted to be part of Education South West, a trust of local primary and secondary schools that includes a nationally recognised teaching school hub at Kingsbridge.
We want an exceptional classroom practitioner, with the energy, vision, work ethic and good humour to inspire and support our students to learn to the highest of standards.
We offer:
1. A highly supportive team of colleagues who are visible, hard-working and committed to our young people
2. Ongoing bespoke professional development and career pathways, including National Professional Qualifications
3. The chance to work with great young people in a comprehensive setting, in a beautiful part of the country
4. The opportunity to implement the delivery of science across a truly comprehensive mixed age range, from Year 7 all the way up to Year 13
We would welcome and always encourage prospective candidates to get in touch ahead of application. To do so, email our Director of Science, Niall Holbourn on
