The Role
Lecturer in the BA (Hons) Accounting & Finance programme. Flexibility to teach during weekdays, evenings and weekends is required.
What you’ll be doing: Deliver management‑related modules, develop and deliver comprehensive course materials, undertake all aspects of learning, teaching and assessment of students, and keep up to date with latest developments in your field and student support practices.
Responsibilities
* All aspects of planning, delivering, and assessing student work, ensuring learning outcomes are met
* Developing, updating, and improving course materials as appropriate
* Using a variety of learning and teaching methods/materials
* Actively engaging in staff development activities, peer observations, meetings and other administrative duties
* Keeping up to date with latest developments in your field and student support practices
* Working towards clearly defined objectives for student attendance, continuation, completion, satisfaction, and student progression
Qualifications
* Master’s degree in a relevant subject area (PhD desirable)
* Previous UK HE lecturing experience in the wider subject area
* Extensive knowledge of relevant subject matter
* Experience supervising student work and providing support and feedback
* Accurate reporting and ability to maintain thorough and organized student records
* Ability to work under pressure, plan and prioritise own workload to meet tight deadlines
* Excellent communication, interpersonal and team‑working skills
* Ability to work with diverse groups of people
Desirable
* Postgraduate Certificate of Academic Practice or equivalent teaching qualification (or commitment to enrol on a teaching programme during the probationary period and complete within three years) or Fellowship of HEA (or international equivalent)
* Experience in design / development of academic or professional education programmes or equivalent
