Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Scrub Team Leader to join our busy and expanding Sharoe Green Theatre Unit. The role involves leading a fast‑paced, 24/7 theatre environment, coordinating elective and emergency services, and supporting multidisciplinary teams to deliver high‑quality patient care.
Responsibilities
* Day‑to‑day running of one of our theatres and coordination of elective and emergency service provision.
* Support junior staff during out‑of‑hours rota and manage a varied workload, providing clear direction.
* Assist and support the Clinical Manager with the safe and effective management of the service, including staff, facilities, and systems.
* Communicate relevant information to the multidisciplinary team internally and with external organisations to ensure seamless care.
* Identify potential bottlenecks, facilitate smooth patient flow, and make optimal use of operating sessions.
* Set, monitor, and maintain standards of care to improve patient experience and outcomes.
* Proactively manage risk and maintain patient safety in accordance with health, safety, and security legislation, policies, procedures, and guidelines.
* Act as a role model, presenting a positive image of self, the team, and the organisation.
Qualifications
* Registered General Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) with a strong knowledge base and commitment to high standards of patient care.
* Substantive scrub experience and effective communication, interpersonal, organisational, and management skills.
* Ability to plan, prepare, and train theatre staff and lead a team in a dynamic environment.
