PART TIME - 22hrs - Mon-Fri - Afternoons and Evening Outreach

Female staff only

Evening outreach service to support vulnerable women

Shift pattern - please note this shift pattern can at times be flexible depending on service needs


Mondays - 1pm to 6pm
Tuesdays - 2pm to 8.30pm
Wednesdays - 2pm to 8.30pm
Thursdays - 1pm to 6pm
Fridays - non working day

No weekend or bank holidays

Kaleidoscope – Kaleidoscope is a unique service that provides support to vulnerable women who street work. This service offers evening outreach sessions and daytime support to enable the women to try and live a safer and more secure lifestyle.

The aim of this service is to encourage safe ways of working, promote harm reduction methods and support women to link with other agencies - including sexual health care - with an inclusive, non-judgemental and trauma informed approach.

We have a close-knit, collaborative team that supports each other and our clients. We work alongside other agencies including the police, drug & alcohol services, housing and medical services and mental health teams to try and reduce the amount the women feel they need to street work.

JOB PURPOSE

To lead on the case management of clients and be part of a team that supports them in keeping them safe and helping them achieve their goals.

To provide people with homes and specialist support so they feel more valued and secure, and ready to take the next steps.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

1. To assess the needs of each client, helping to develop their individual support plan to achieve their goals
2. To produce and regularly review comprehensive client-based risk assessments, often supporting women with substance misuse needs
3. To manage a caseload of clients on a one-to-one basis, providing personalised, intensive support via assertive outreach to female sex workers in the city, maintaining consistent and supportive interventions
4. To engage and support female clients on the streets working alongside homeless health care and the street homeless prevention team
5. To provide information, advice and support on sexual health and BBV testing and advocating for your female clients
6. To accompany and support female clients to interviews and appointments
7. To support with practical skills development in areas such as managing a universal credit claim, shopping, probation, and health appointments
8. To support to maintain environment to avoid eviction if accommodated
9. To engage with local authorities, health providers and other agencies, creating and maintaining constructive working relationships to ensure the safety of female clients and maximise the opportunities available
10. To attend community meetings and presentations with managers to support additional funding for the role alongside
11. To support female clients in trauma informed and psychologically informed ways
12. To adhere to safeguarding responsibilities, following our safeguarding policy and procedure
13. To help maintain health and safety, ensuring female clients, visitors and buildings are safe in accordance with Health and Safety regulations, policy and procedures
14. To provide basic first aid assistance until help arrives (full training is provided)
15. To work confidently and efficiently when lone working
16. To maintain accurate records on our client management system and ensure these are stored in line with GDPR
17. To maintain confidentiality
18. To represent the organisation in a professional manner
19. To carry out any other reasonable duties required in the interest of the organisation

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

20. This role requires an Enhanced with Barred List(s) disclosure and barring service check is a requirement for this role. This would be completed on appointment of the role
21. This role requires a full drivers’ licence and access to a vehicle
22. This role will require you to work flexibly across several sites
23. This role will require you to work with clients on a one-to-one basis
24. This role will require you to lone work

ESSENTIAL CRITERIA

25. Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
26. Clear verbal and written English
27. Good keyboard skills for data inputting
28. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel and Word
29. Confident and assertive manner
30. Ability to self-motivate as you will work on your own
31. Effective team working
32. Ability to respond calmly to crisis
33. Deal promptly with and effectively react to challenging situations
34. Have an interest and genuine concern for homelessness and related issues

DESIRABLE CRITERIA

35. Experience of managing a caseload of clients
36. Knowledge and experience in working with vulnerable Women who sex work and have complex needs
37. Previous experience in domestic Abuse, IDVA or ISVA or modern slavery
38. Understanding of the complex support needs of people experiencing homelessness or those with complex needs
39. Knowledge of voluntary and statutory agencies, housing regulations and the benefits system
40. Understanding of risk assessment and person-centred, outcomes-based delivery
