Job Summary
Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust is seeking an exceptional leader to join our executive team as Chief Digital and Information Officer (CDIO). This critical role will lead the Trust’s digital transformation, ensuring our ambition to deliver outstanding healthcare is fully enabled by innovative digital solutions and services.
As CDIO, you will set the strategic direction and oversee the development and delivery of all digital services, including IT, Information, Information Governance, Health Records, and Data Quality. You will work collaboratively with senior stakeholders across the Trust, the Foundation Group of Hospitals, and the Integrated Care System (ICS) to create a robust digital infrastructure that supports population health, integrated care pathways, and multi-disciplinary clinical teams.
About You
We are looking for a visionary leader with significant executive-level experience in digital leadership within complex organisations. You will bring expertise in large-scale digital transformation and Electronic Patient Record (EPR) implementation, alongside exceptional communication skills and the ability to operate as a key member of the Executive Team and Trust Board. Strong stakeholder engagement, partnership working, and political acumen are essential, as is a commitment to our values of kindness, respect, and openness.
Key Responsibilities
* Oversee development and delivery of the Trust’s Digital Strategy and ensure alignment with national digital standards, statutory requirements, and ICs digital priorities.
* Provide strategic vision that ensures digital capability underpins every aspect of our organisational mission, advancing digital maturity in the Trust.
* Lead operational and strategic Digital and information functions facilitating intelligence‑led decision making and data quality assurance.
* Enable clinical strategy through digital innovation, improving patient safety, outcomes, and experience.
* Manage digital programmes, contracts and budgets, identifying opportunities for external funding and maximising available resources.
* Drive continuous improvement and a culture of innovation across the Trust.
* Lead on cyber security, information governance, and disaster recovery.
* Represent the Trust as a non‑voting executive member of the Board and participate in the on‑call rota.
