We are seeking a confident and adaptable Cover Supervisor to join a friendly and supportive team in Oxfordshire. Starting September 2025.
Duties as a Cover Supervisor:
* Supervise whole classes during the short-term absence of teaching staff, ensuring pupils remain on task and engaged.
* Deliver pre-prepared lesson plans across a range of subjects and year groups.
* Manage classroom behaviour effectively and uphold the school’s policies and expectations.
* Take registers, monitor attendance, and record any issues as required.
* Provide feedback to teachers about pupil progress and any concerns during cover lessons.
* Support pupils with their learning where appropriate.
* Assist with break and lunchtime supervision as needed.
* Maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment at all times.
Ideal Cover Supervisor:
* Good standard of education (minimum GCSEs or equivalent in English and Maths).
* Previous experience working with young people in a school or similar environment is desirable.
* Confidence to manage a classroom and maintain discipline.
* Strong communication and organisational skills as a Cover Supervisor.
* Flexible, reliable, and professional approach to work.
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
