We are seeking a dedicated and proactive Teaching Assistant to join our Year 4 team. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about supporting children’s learning and development while maintaining a positive and structured classroom environment.
The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher to deliver high-quality support, ensuring all pupils are engaged and achieving their potential. Strong behaviour management skills are essential, as you will play a key role in promoting positive behaviour and creating a safe, inclusive learning space.
Location: Burnley
Contract Type: Full-time – long-term. Opportunity to be for the full academic year.
Salary: £13.75 - £14.50 per hour
Key Responsibilities
* Support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and activities.
* Implement effective and strong behaviour management strategies in line with school policy.
* Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with varying needs.
* Assist in planning and preparing resources for learning.
* Foster a positive and respectful classroom culture.
* Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to the teacher.
Requirements
* Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or in a similar role.
* Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
* A genuine passion for supporting children’s learning and wellbeing.
* Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
* Confidence when supporting children, showing a proactive approach.
* Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent) desirable.
