Overview
We are looking for a highly skilled Senior Maintenance Technician to join our multi-disciplinary estates team at Whiston Hospital. You will play a vital role in delivering a 24/7, 365-day planned and reactive maintenance service across both retained and new hospital buildings and estate facilities.
Hours
Full Time - 37.5 hours - Variable Shift Pattern
Responsibilities
* Deliver planned preventative, reactive, and breakdown maintenance on plant, services, and equipment.
* Carry out inspections, testing, fault-finding, repairs, and component replacements.
* Ensure compliance with statutory and Trust policies while maintaining high-quality, cost-effective service.
* Support project delivery through effective planning, coordination, and contractor liaison.
* Maintain accurate records using the Computerised Facilities Management System (Maximo).
* Undertake training and act as an Authorised Person for specialist systems when required.
* Anticipate and resolve technical problems, working collaboratively to find lasting solutions.
* Promote trade flexibility by supporting other disciplines as required.
* Represent the Trust with professionalism, ensuring minimal disruption to hospital users.
Essential Qualifications/Skills
* Strong technical expertise in mechanical, electrical, or multi-skilled maintenance within a healthcare or similar environment.
* Experience with both planned preventative and reactive maintenance.
* Problem-solving mindset with a focus on continuous improvement.
* Excellent communication and relationship management skills.
* Commitment to health and safety standards.
* Flexibility to work shifts and participate in the call-out rota.
