Job overview
To maintain a high standard of hygiene and cleanliness, as defined in the National Standards of Cleanliness, in all areas of responsibility.
To ensure Infection Prevention and Control guidelines are adhered to.
Main duties of the job
Will be required to communicate effectively with a wide range of people, including colleagues, other Trust staff, visitors and contractors.
Will be required to interact well with patients to provide the highest level of service in aid of Trusts commitment to patient first.
Demonstrate duties and aid in orientation of wards/departments to new starters as part of on the job buddying.
Person specification
Qualifications and Experience
* A good level of General Education, Numeracy and Literacy.
* Educated to NVQ Level 1 Certificate in Cleaning and Support Services or willing to obtain or equivalent experience
* A good standard of English is essential for effective communication and understanding.
* Willing to undertake training as required.
* Cleaning experience of working within a healthcare environment
* Experience in the use of cleaning equipment including floor machinery
* Knowledge of hygiene standards including infection, prevention and control within the workplace.
* Positive attitude and the ability to communicate with patients, staff and visitors
