Overview of the Role

An Interior Designer job in Birmingham is available within a multidisciplinary design studio working across hospitality and leisure projects in the UK and internationally. This role offers exposure to full project lifecycles, from early concept design through to technical delivery and construction stages.

The Interior Designer will support the development of creative concepts, detailed design packages, and project coordination across multiple schemes. You will work closely with internal teams and external consultants to ensure design intent, programme requirements, and technical standards are achieved.

Practice & Project Information

The practice operates as an established, multi-disciplinary creative studio delivering interior design solutions across hospitality and leisure sectors. The studio has an international project portfolio and a strong track record of delivering commercially aware, design-led environments.

Projects typically include hospitality, leisure, and F&B environments, with experience in pub projects considered advantageous. Work spans concept design, visualisation, and technical delivery, ensuring continuity across all RIBA Stages where applicable.

The team structure promotes collaboration between designers, visualisers, and technical specialists. Employees gain exposure to varied project stages, supporting both creative development and technical delivery skills within a consistent project pipeline.


Key Responsibilities

* Support the development of hospitality interior design concepts from initial brief through to design resolution
* Produce mood boards, presentations, and visual materials to communicate design intent
* Develop schematic designs into coordinated and detailed drawing packages
* Prepare layouts, elevations, and technical drawings for planning and construction stages
* Assist in producing tender and construction documentation with accuracy and consistency
* Collaborate with consultants, visualisers, and contractors across all project stages
* Attend project meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary coordination. Support project delivery on site, including visits, snagging, and completion stages
* Maintain alignment between design intent, programme requirements, and technical standards


Required Skills and Experience

* Degree qualified in Interior Design or Interior Architecture
* Minimum 2 years’ experience within a UK interior design or architecture practice
* Experience working on hospitality, leisure, or F&B projects. Ability to translate design concepts into clear presentation and technical outputs
* Proficiency in AutoCAD, Adobe Creative Suite, and SketchUp
* Experience producing layouts, elevations, and coordinated drawing packages
* Understanding of design development and delivery stages across UK projects
* Strong communication skills and ability to work within collaborative teams
* Full UK driving licence preferred for site visits
